The Financial Services Authority (FSA)

The FSA is a Government body and is responsible for the regulation of Equity Release schemes and various other financial services and products. For your benefit, the FSA aims to help you as a consumer achieve a fair financial deal by promoting ‘efficient, orderly and fair markets’ and provide the appropriate level of protection. Because we are regulated by the FSA, you are afforded the peace of mind of financial protection.

SHIP is a self-regulated organisation dedicated to protecting consumers that have taken out equity release plans, or who are looking to do so.

SHIP equity release plans are completely safe and come with a set of guarantees that act to protect your financial future.

You should be aware that whilst the majority of equity release providers are members of SHIP, there are still some plans available that have not received the SHIP seal of approval. For your own financial protection, make sure you only ever choose a product endorsed with the SHIP logo. You can rest assured that Bower Retirement Services only recommend SHIP endorsed products.
